Superhooks™ Installation and Usage Guide

Important Note: Superhooks™ are designed for versatile use, providing efficient storage solutions using either VHB tape or screws. Weight limits are based on the best-case scenario when applied to a clean metal surface. Results may vary on other surfaces. Please follow these guidelines for optimal performance.

I. VHB Tape Installation:

a. Surface Preparation:

  1. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or debris.
  2. If needed, clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue.

b. Applying VHB Tape:

  1. Peel off the protective backing from the VHB tape on the Superhook.
  2. Align the Superhook with the desired location on the surface.
  3. Press firmly for at least 30 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.

c. Waiting Period:

  • Allow 24 hours before hanging any items on the Superhook to ensure the VHB tape sets securely.

d. Weight Limits using VHB Tape:

  • Small (SML) Hooks: Up to 2 kg
  • Large (LRG) Hooks: Up to 3 kg

e. Surface Compatibility:

  • VHB tape installation is suitable for surfaces such as plastic, wood, and tile, but results may differ.

f. Not Recommended for:

  • Hanging pictures or frames.
  • Use on wallpaper or surfaces with new paint.
  • Hanging precious or valuable objects.

II. Screw Installation:

a. Surface Compatibility:

  1. Ensure the surface is appropriate for screw installation (e.g., wood, drywall).
  2. Use appropriate anchors if necessary.

b. Installing with Screws:

  1. Mark the desired location for the Superhook on the surface.
  2. Use the provided screws to secure the Superhook in place.

c. Weight Limits using Screws:

  • All Hooks: Up to 5 kg

III. General Usage Guidelines:

  1. Variable Performance: Results may vary based on the surface type, condition, and what is hung on the hooks. It is recommended to test the hooks with lighter items before hanging heavier objects.

  2. Duration of Use: Continuous weight on the hooks over an extended period may affect performance. Periodically check the installation to ensure stability.

  3. Weight Distribution: Distribute weight evenly across the hook to optimize performance.

  4. Repositioning: If repositioning is necessary, use new VHB tape for optimal adhesion.

IV. Removal for VHB:

  • Because VHB tape is considered permanent, removal is recommended by slowly heating the hook and tape evenly with a hairdryer. Carefully peel away from the surface.

V. Maintenance:

  1. Cleaning: Clean the hooks and surfaces regularly to maintain optimal adhesion.

  2. Replacing VHB Tape: If the adhesive strength weakens, replace the VHB tape for secure installation.
